Nectar's packaging is slick — the Premier Copper arrived vacuum-sealed with clear unboxing instructions. It expanded to its full 14 inches within a few hours. The copper-woven cover has a subtle shimmer to it that looks premium, and placing your hand on the surface reveals a gentle coolness that's more "neutral" than "cold." It's a different sensation from the aggressive cooling of a GlacioTex cover — more like the mattress isn't trapping heat rather than actively pulling it away.

Sleeping on It

We spent six weeks on the Premier Copper, which feels appropriate given the 365-night trial. The cooling is... adequate. Let me be honest: it's noticeably cooler than Nectar's standard mattress and most generic memory foam mattresses, but it doesn't reach the cooling levels of a Helix Midnight Luxe or Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe. The copper cover, PCM gel foam, and ActiveCool HD layer work together to prevent heat buildup rather than actively pulling heat away. On a warm night, you'll sleep more comfortably than on a standard mattress, but you might still reach for the fan.

Where the Premier Copper excels is conforming comfort. The gel memory foam hugs you in that classic Nectar way — slow to respond, deeply cushioning, with excellent pressure relief at the shoulders and hips. Side sleepers under 200 lbs will find this incredibly comfortable. The medium firmness (6.5/10) is well-calibrated for the majority of sleepers.

What We Loved

The 365-night trial is the star feature. A full year to decide if a mattress works for you is unmatched in the industry — most competitors cap at 100-120 nights. Pair that with a lifetime warranty and you have the lowest-risk mattress purchase possible. If the cooling doesn't meet your expectations after a full summer, you can return it. That peace of mind is worth a lot.

Financing options are genuinely useful here — Affirm, Splitit, and HSA/FSA eligibility make the $1,249 price point accessible. The mattress also feels more premium than its price suggests; the copper cover, the 14-inch profile, and the build quality all punch above their weight class.

What Frustrated Us

The cooling marketing overpromises. "Triple-action cooling technology" suggests something more aggressive than what you actually get. It's cooler than standard foam, yes, but it's not in the same league as mattresses with GlacioTex covers or Phase Change Material. If you're a genuinely hot sleeper who overheats nightly, you'll want something more powerful.

Edge support is also weak. Sitting on the edge of the bed causes significant compression, and sleeping near the perimeter feels less secure. And while the memory foam feel is lovely for side sleepers, the slow response time and deep sink make it unsuitable for most stomach sleepers and anyone over 230 lbs who needs more support.

The Verdict

The Nectar Premier Copper is the mattress for cautious buyers. The 365-night trial and lifetime warranty eliminate all purchase risk, and the copper-infused cooling is meaningfully better than standard foam. It's not the coolest mattress we've tested — not by a long shot — but it's the safest purchase. If you're upgrading from a traditional mattress and want some cooling improvement without spending $2,000+, this is a smart, low-risk choice. Just don't expect it to solve severe overheating problems.
